Significance of a temple or a place of worship ?

Do we need temple or similar other places of worship, whereas we know God is everywhere ! In one of the spiritual discussions, a wonderful analogy emerged and we all could not agree more : If air is everywhere, so why do we need a fan?  God is everywhere, but to feel his glory in a concentrated form, a visit to a temple helps. Even a place of worship in every household is kept for this purpose. 

 

This is same with Satsanga or mass meditation and any other place of worship for all the religions. Tall and Big mega malls attract people in the consumerism oriented world. On the other hand, the ambience of a massive and beautiful place of worship help the devotees to feel the divine breeze.

Lord Krishna , in the first five Verses of Twelveth Chapter of Bhagwat Gita  has explained both the forms of worships -the form and the formless are right methods having their own merits.

However, in  Bhagwat Gita 12.5  he goes on to make it more clear to choose the easy way for common people. He says, whose minds are attached to the unmanifest (formless), the path of realization is not easy. Worship of the unmanifest is exceedingly difficult for embodied beings.
